Take your book club beyond the living room! Bring your latest read to 1111 ELM, and we'll turn your gathering into a creative experience inspired by the book. Tell us what you're reading, and we'll create a custom candle or soap project inspired by the story's setting, characters, era, mood, or memorable details.
Your $35 experience includes your project, all materials, and a custom theme created especially for your book club.

Your experience might include a story-inspired candle, a literary soap, custom fragrance choices, themed labels, botanicals, or even images embedded directly into soap. Every experience is designed around the book your group is reading, so no two Book Club After Hours events are exactly the same.
YESTERYEAR: THEN & NOW
For a book club reading Yesteryear, we created a Then & Now candle experience
inspired by the book's connection to the past. For “Then,” guests make a molded beeswax candle while learning about beeswax and traditional candle making. For 
“Now,” they create a modern scented candle, choosing from fragrances selected to complement the book's mood and themes. The two candles create a fun connection between past and present—and give the group something from the story to experience beyond the pages.
WHAT WILL YOUR BOOK INSPIRE?
Maybe your book calls for an old-fashioned botanical soap, a candle inspired by a particular character, fragrances that transport you to the story's setting, or a beautiful book-inspired image embedded into a bar of soap. Historical fiction, mysteries, thrillers, romance, beach reads, fantasy, and everything in between—we'll find a creative way to bring your book to life.
HOW IT WORKS
Choose your book and gather your book club—we'll take it from there! When you book, simply give us the book title and author. We'll use the story as our inspiration and design a candle or soap experience especially for your group. Projects may incorporate special fragrances, colors, molds, labels, botanicals, embedded images and other creative elements that connect your project to the book.
Please book at least two weeks in advance so we have time to create something special for your group.
SIP WHILE YOU CREATE
This is book club, after all! Wine and Prosecco are available for purchase for guests 21+ while you create, discuss, and enjoy time with your group.
